Dr. Said Cherkaoui’s Short Bio:
Dr. Cherkaoui has 15 years of dual and parallel experience in Corporate America and Academia that includes E-Learning practices, executive and management positions, and business consulting provided to small and medium size businesses in all types of industries along with academic teaching, administration and applied research projects.
Dr. Cherkaoui has held Executive and Senior Management positions in the major U.S. corporations and technology firms such as GLOCENTRA, EBCITD, Amient/Mercanteo, Sprint Corp., Everex Systems, EBSBDC/CITD, San Francisco Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Baker Associates. He has a successful record in business management, client relationship and market development, logistics and international business/trade operations in all types of economic activities which span from hospitality, food and agriculture to information technology and telecommunications industries. He is an expert and experienced consultant with small and mid-sized business operations in the same areas.
The academic institutions where Dr. Cherkaoui has chaired department and mentored doctoral research and professed are Golden Gate University of San Francisco, Holy Names University of Oakland, Saint Mary’s College of Moraga, Dominican University of California, International University of America. He taught onsite and online courses at Devry University and Touro University and designed curriculum for Education Management Corporation. In France, Dr. Cherkaoui has also conducted research at the CREDAL and the CERDI and lectured at the Institut des Hautes Etudes de l’Amerique Latine, (Paris) and at the Institut des Recherches Economiques et de Planification, Grenoble (France).
Dr. Cherkaoui holds a Doctorate in Economics with Honors from the Universite de Sorbonne, Paris, France He conducted an extensive doctoral research for 14 years and initially wrote 1400 pages for the doctoral thesis focusing on modernization, the early transfer of technology and their combined cause-effect relationship with foreign investment and regional development in Latin America as well as other developing countries. Dr Cherkaoui received his Master of Science degree in Prospective Science from l'Institut de Prospective et de Politique de la Science, Université Pierre-Mendes France, (UPMF) Grenoble, France and a Diplôme du Second Cycle in Economics & Finance from the l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques, UPMF, Grenoble, France. His graduate studies concentrated on Finance, Industrial Organization, Economic Development and the central economic role of the State.
