REGULATIONS:
To promote the
liberalization of foreign trade and
guarantee free competition between
economic operators, Morocco has
implemented legislative and regulatory
provisions governing foreign trade in
terms of importing and exporting,
particularly ORDER NO. 2-93-415 of 11
Moharrem 1414 (July 2, 1993), made
pursuant to Law no. 13-89 regarding
foreign trade, as amended and
supplemented by Order no. 2-99-1261 of
29 Moharrem 1421 (May 4, 2000).

INTERNATIONAL TRADE:
Of the ten fastest-growing occupations,
five are computer related.

TRADE MISSION IN
MOROCCO:
The
East Bay Center for International Development
designated Dr. Cherkaoui to form and conduct a
trade mission to Morocco. He recruited 20
U.S. companies and represented at trade show
organized by the USDA held in Casabalanca,
Morocco. Dr. Cherkaoui as
founding Member of GLOCENTRA is a US Citizen from Moroccan and
Berber heritage (Cherkawa & Ait Youssi).
Members of GLOCENTRA LLC
have developed an extensive network of contacts formed of
clients, partners and representatives of local and national
governments working toward developing trade relationship between
the United States, in particular California and
Morocco.

Arab-Berber descent and are Muslim; Islam is the state religion. There are

MOROCCO GEOGRAPHY:
Morocco, about one-tenth
larger than California, lies across the
Strait of Gibraltar on the Mediterranean
and looks out on the Atlantic from the
northwest shoulder of Africa. Algeria is
to the east and Mauritania to the south.
On the Atlantic coast there is a fertile
plain. The Mediterranean coast is
mountainous. The Atlas Mountains,
running northeastward from the south to
the Algerian frontier, average 11,000 ft
(3,353 m) in elevation.
