Since 1992, members of GLOCENTRA LLC have developed an extensive network of contacts formed of clients, partners and representatives of local and national governments working toward developing trade relationship between the United States, in particular California and Morocco as well as in other regions.

The United States and Morocco reached agreement today on a  comprehensive and groundbreaking Free Trade Agreement (FTA designed to strip away barriers and facilitate trade and investment between both countries. U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick and Moroccan Minister-delegate of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Taib Fassi-Fihri made the joint announcement. (March 02, 2004)

As representative of the East Bay Center for International Trade Development (on June 2004), Dr. Cherkaoui spent almost one month in  Morocco establishing and reinforcing contacts with Government Officials, Executives, high level Moroccan personalities, Academics and Entrepreneurs from the most important industrial sectors in the following cities: El Jadida (his birthplace), Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez (City of Dr. Cherkaoui's Mother Family), Marrakech (the birthplace of Dr. Cherkaoui's Father) and Agadir.

A second visit to Morocco was conducted by Dr. Cherkaoui (November 14 - December 12, 2006) which represented the second round of the 2004 Trade Mission.  As was  the case for the initial trade mission, the objectives were defined and extended by Dr. Garrett, the Director of the East Bay Center for International Trade Development.

The United States-Morocco Free Trade Agreement entered into force on January 1, 2006.
